Movement is Medicine™ is home to the neuroscience-backed method for mind and body that combines rave culture and neuroscience that features nervous system regulation techniques to release stress, tension and emotion.

You're guided through a seated body-focused meditation to help you find your rhythm, which moves into freeform dance to a specifically curated playlist of our favourite rhythmic genres such as reggae, dancehall, house, drum n bass + more to help you shake away your stress and come out of the head and into the body to redefine exercise. It's not about what you look like; it's about how you feel.

Movement is Medicine™ is a brand dedicated to teaching people how to use dance and music as medicine in day-to-day life by combining rave culture and neuroscience.

Let the body do the talking

Animals in the wild have an innate ability to release stress, but humans can get stuck in their minds, preventing this process. Our bodies hold onto experiences that haven't been processed, which can impact our physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Movement is Medicine helps people release and let go of these experiences by getting them out of their minds and into their bodies through freeform dance, allowing the body to release in a modern way.

Music and dance have been used for centuries to promote storytelling worldwide. By creating educational tools centred around the neurological benefits of dance, this methodology enables people to incorporate it into their daily routine without the need to attend a rave or club. You can implement this practice yourself, even with just 5 minutes daily, making it accessible to everyone. Movement is Medicine has created an environment for people to learn and dance together, which is a significant reason why people return to this practice.

Rave culture is a critical element of Movement is Medicine™. When we look across our lives, some of our most profound moments of connection, presence, and healing have been done on a dark dance floor: when we have been lost in the euphoria of how it feels to be in the flow state with our bodies and with something greater than ourselves.

We use dance to access our inner agency by working with nervous system education to dispel stress, anxiety, and tension and by making room for deeper connections with our bodies.

  • We use an intentionally curated beat-driven playlist featuring genres such as Afrobeat, Afro house, Latin house, tribal house, reggaeton, + more that encourage you to find your rhythm - this is how we return to the present moment.

    In sync with the beat and in connection with your body in the present - this is meditation.
